MCP / CLI Connections
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, Devin, Notion, or any MCP-compatible AI to Find Your Great so it can reason over your work activity, career signals, plans, and impact updates. The connection is read-only and you choose which scopes to grant.
Your MCP server URL
https://findyourgreat.com/mcp/v1Paste this URL into your AI client. The first time it connects, you'll be sent through a consent screen where you pick the org and scopes to grant.
Setup guides
Claude Desktop & Claude.ai
Claude Desktop and Claude.ai share the same MCP integration. Open Settings → Connectors, scroll to the bottom, and click Add custom connector. Paste the MCP server URL above and click Add. Claude will open the Find Your Great consent screen where you pick your org and choose which scopes to grant.
Once connected, the integration is available in both Claude Desktop and Claude.ai under the same account — you only need to authorize once.
Claude Code
Add Find Your Great as a remote MCP server from the command line:
claude mcp add findyourgreat --transport http https://findyourgreat.com/mcp/v1
On first use, Claude Code will open your browser for the OAuth consent flow. After authorizing, tools are available in your Claude Code session. You can verify with /mcp to see the connected server and its tools.
ChatGPT
First, enable Developer Mode: open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings → toggle Developer Mode on. Then click Create, enter "Find Your Great" as the name, paste the MCP server URL above, and set authentication to OAuth.
To use it in a chat, click the + button in the composer → More → Developer mode, then select Find Your Great. ChatGPT will open the consent screen on first use.
Cursor
Open Cursor Settings → Tools & MCP → + New MCP Server. Paste the URL above and Cursor will handle the OAuth flow automatically on first use. Or add directly to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"findyourgreat": {
"url": "https://findyourgreat.com/mcp/v1"
}
}
}Devin (formerly Windsurf)
In Devin Desktop, open the MCP Servers settings and choose "Add MCP Server". Paste the URL above. Or add directly to ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"findyourgreat": {
"serverUrl": "https://findyourgreat.com/mcp/v1"
}
}
}Gemini CLI
Install the Find Your Great extension directly from the gallery:
gemini extensions install https://github.com/Product-Sense/findyourgreat-gemini-extension
On first use, Gemini CLI will open your browser for the OAuth consent flow. Tokens are stored locally and refreshed automatically.
Notion
In Notion AI Settings → Connect tools → Add MCP server. Paste the URL above and authorize when Notion redirects you to Find Your Great.
Other MCP clients (generic OAuth flow)
Find Your Great implements OAuth 2.1 with Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591) and PKCE (RFC 7636). Any standards-compliant MCP client can connect using the public metadata endpoints:
https://findyourgreat.com/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server— RFC 8414 metadatahttps://findyourgreat.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource— RFC 9728 metadata pointing at/mcp/v1
The flow is: discover endpoints → register client (if not pre-known) → authorize → consent screen → token exchange → tool calls. Clients we haven't pre-verified will show as "(unverified)" on the consent screen with an extra acknowledgment step.
Scopes & tools
During the consent screen you choose which scopes to grant. Each scope unlocks a set of read-only tools. All scopes are on by default; uncheck any you don't want the AI client to access. All 44 tools are read-only — Find Your Great never writes data on behalf of an external client.
Work Activity (read:work · 13 tools)
Activities, projects, decisions, meetings, features, and company research — including decrypted message content and meeting transcripts. list_activities takes search_in: "content" to search what your activities actually say rather than their titles; content search reads only your own work, and reports how much it read.
Career Signals (read:career · 8 tools)
Work episodes (narrative pattern summaries), evaluation scores, score history, evaluation frameworks, written day/week/month summaries, and the dated evidence behind each score with citations back to the activities supporting it.
Patterns (read:patterns · 5 tools)
Greats (behavioral strengths) and Gaps (growth areas) discovered from work activities, the reputational traits behind them, and the dated moments that evidence them.
Plans & Goals (read:plans · 5 tools)
Team goals, development plans, and a summary of what you do at work.
Impact Updates (read:impact · 8 tools)
Impact feed items, delivery stats, impact model (business flywheels and value barriers), and business impact summary.
Team (read:team · 5 tools)
Organization members, teams, and how your work connects to business outcomes through the impact chain.
Resources & prompts
In addition to tools, the server exposes five static resources (pre-loaded context your AI can read without a tool call) and five prompt templates (ready-made workflows).

Troubleshooting
"Unauthorized" or 401 errors
Your access token has expired (1-hour lifetime) or your connection was revoked. Most AI clients refresh automatically — if it persists, disconnect and reconnect from your AI client's MCP settings, or revoke the old connection in Settings → Connections and add the server URL again.
"Missing scope" errors
You unchecked a scope during consent that the tool you're calling requires. To change scopes, revoke the connection in Settings → Connections and reconnect — the consent screen will let you pick a different scope set.
"Rate limit exceeded" (429)
Each connection is limited to 60 requests per minute, and each organization has a daily cap (default 10,000 tool calls/day). The response includes a Retry-After header with seconds to wait. If you hit the daily cap, it resets at midnight UTC.
Connection shows "Needs reconnection"
Your refresh token expired because the connection was idle for over 90 days. Click Reconnect in Settings → Connections to re-authorize.
No tools showing in your AI client
Make sure you completed the OAuth consent screen. Some clients (like ChatGPT) require enabling Developer Mode and manually selecting the connection in each chat. Check the client-specific setup guide above.
Empty results from tools
Find Your Great populates data from your connected work integrations (Slack, GitHub, Linear, etc.). If a tool returns empty results, check that you have active integrations in Settings → Integrations and that enough work activity has been captured.
What you need, privacy, and support
Before you connect
- A Find Your Great account, on any plan — there is no separate add-on for MCP access.
- At least one connected work integration (Slack, GitHub, Linear, or the desktop app). The tools read the activity those integrations capture, so a brand-new account returns empty results until data has been collected.
- An MCP-compatible AI client. No API key or manual token is needed — you sign in through the OAuth consent screen and pick which scopes to grant.
Privacy
All 44 tools are read-only, and every one is scoped to the account that authorized the connection — a connected client can never read another member's data. You choose the scopes at consent time and can revoke a connection at any moment in Settings → Connections. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Support
Questions or something not working? Email support@findyourgreat.com and include the AI client you're connecting from and the tool that failed.
CLI / Personal Access Tokens
A Find Your Great CLI with personal access tokens for scripts and automation is coming soon. Until then, use one of the AI clients above to interact with your data, or the existing dashboard.
Manage your connections
Active connections live in . You can revoke any connection at any time; the AI client gets a 401 on its next tool call.
